Acupuncture for Pain and Sports Injuries
Acupuncture can assist the healing of both acute and chronic injuries and pain. Treatments can decrease localized inflammation, desensitize irritated nerve endings, relax contracted muscles and reduce pain. Athletic performance can be improved by temporarily “turning on” muscles to increase their power and endurance and lactic acid levels reduced to lessen post activity soreness. Acupuncture is a beneficial pre and post surgery treatment to stimulate the healing process, increase range of motion and reduce discomfort.

In 2011-2012, Stephanie was the team acupuncturist for the Denver Roller Dolls, an all-women roller derby team. She earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. After graduation, Stephanie studied extensively with Whitfield Reaves in the specialty of sports medicine acupuncture, completed his six-month intensive apprenticeship and currently assists his trainings and seminars. Stephanie has served on the faculty of Southwest Acupuncture College. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado and is NCCAOM certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese herbology.
