This has been a studio favorite for a while and we recently spruced it up with a few new selections so we thought we’d share it here too!
Now that you know you have this thing in your body called fascia, what is it made out of? Like many parts of your biology, your fascia has a specific recipe. The body recipe for fascia is collagen, elastin and ground substance.
We are so excited to announce that Anna Rahe’s first book will be released sometime this fall! “From Skin to Soul: The Definitive Guide to Total Body Fascia Care” will put GST and fascia into context for you and explain what you can do at home to experience our special Fascia Care Technology!
Exciting news! An article published by CNN today says “Researchers have detailed the structure and distribution of spaces in your body that they say represent a newfound human organ, and this “organ” just might be your body’s biggest…It’s the part of the body known as the interstitium, a name for widespread, fluid-filled spaces within and between tissues all over your body, according to a study published in the journal Scientific Reports on Tuesday.”
This month we’re bringing you a medium-fast mix on this playlist featuring some of our favorites – Calvin Harris, Khalid, Maroon 5, Majid Jordan and more!
If you already follow us, then you’ve likely heard the news that we were recently featured on an episode of “My Number One”, a podcast from Nancy Hower. Nancy interviews friends about their number one healing experience and then tries the modality out for herself, documenting the experiences in her podcast. We were lucky to be mentioned by our old friend and student Dina Platias, whose interview sent Nancy our way.
We are all superficial. We only ever really think skin deep and it’s also kind of not our fault. It’s impossible barring skinning ourselves (yuck) to get under the skin. But under your skin lies a world that would blow your mind.
Have you ever thought about how your body parts stay in place? You have tons of wires (nerves), hundreds of pipes (veins), tubes and bladders, (organs) that somehow stay in place inside the balloon of your skin. What keeps these things in place inside of you? And by the way, what is the stuff that your organs, brain and skin are made of?
We just had to share this recent studio favorite with everybody after multiple requests!
We often hear something along these things at the studio…“So, can you tell me how to get started?” “How often should I do GST?”
In reality, there are different answers to these questions depending on your individual situation. So for today, I’m going to focus on what your practice should look like if you are seeking to start getting back in shape, are not injured but still have aches and pains that you would like to get rid of, or want in general just to feel healthier.
Ideally, we recommend:
- 2-3 classes a week, focusing on Anti-Aging or Movement Medicine classes, or specifically CC Stretch classes. *These could be done at our studio in LA or selected from the Online Studio library. If you are practicing at home, focus on the Anti-Aging and Movement Medicine videos.
- 2 outdoor/lifestyle cardio activities per week. Think hiking or swimming versus something like the treadmill.
Especially if you are practicing GST in person at our studio, we recommend adding on a private session approximately every 6 weeks that can be tailored more specifically towards your needs and allow for a check in. We can also do online sessions for people who wish to check in from a distance, just contact us for details.
With the web and the invention of apps we have unlimited access to information about our pregnant bodies- how they change and what to expect. When I was pregnant for the first time with my daughter the information I found missing was very specific instructions for body care for me, the momma growing the baby and preparing for delivery, as well as post baby recovery. The answer was not gentle yoga!
We’ve been getting so many requests for this playlist that we had to post it!
